Colton Stewart
Undergraduate Researcher
I am currently an undergraduate student at Normandale College, completing my Associate of Science degrees in Environmental Engineering and Biology, and I will be transferring to the University of Minnesota to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at the College of Biological Sciences. At SAFL, I assist with the harmful algal bloom project, researching the use of suspended particles to remediate harmful algal blooms. This experience has expanded my interests in ecology, microbiology, and the complex interactions within natural systems. I’m grateful for the chance to be at SAFL, working alongside a group of friends and colleagues who all bring their own perspectives but share a commitment to understanding and solving environmental challenges. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time outdoors—hiking, exploring, and having adventures with my four dogs.
