Imtisaal Naeem

Undergraduate Researcher

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota working towards a B.S. in Environmental Engineering and set to graduate in the Spring of 2025. I have always been curious about applications of chemistry, physics, and math concepts, while also being passionate about environmental phenomena. After taking courses in stream restoration and environmental microbiology, I wanted to be able to apply my knowledge to delve deeper into science questions about sediment transport and biofilms. Now, given the opportunity to research at St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, I want to focus on the development of algae and biofilms in a controlled environment. Ultimately, I hope this work can be used to explore and understand flow-biofilm-sediment interactions in our environment! In my free time when I am not in the lab or class, I enjoy cooking, going to see live music, and reading. I am excited to further my academic journey here at SAFL!
